It will force players old and new to LEARN how to play properly. Why not FIX the game on 12 minute, All-star/Superstar w/ Simulation sliders? Obviously you'd keep the ability to sim as many games as you want but the idea is to have us focus and play 'for the fun of basketball', rather than to 'grind' it out until our players are all maxed out and pimped.Īlso here's the advantages. Not saying if not for that the mode won't be any fun, but rather it would feel very hollow and predictable very early. Roster building, contract offers, trade logic, minute allocations, ect ALL need to be fixed if we're to have the best career mode experience. I couldn't believe that after signing with the Warriors during my sophomore year we had 0 backup PGs and like 4 backup Cs (not even joking). Unfortunately, as long as the architecture for MyLeague/MyGM is flawed, M圜areer will never be fully worth the immersion and investment by players. It's less about features/updates/ect but more about the philosophy of what the Mode should be: That way you won't have 90% of players picking a 7'3 C or a 5'5 PG.Ī lot of great stuff here already, so I'd just like to give my two cents very quickly and incoherently. And it will also force players to pick all types of different positions. Each My Player will truly be different in his own way. You won't have the same type of players with the same strengths and weaknesses. So that makes the possibilities almost endless as far as uniqueness and individuality. Again you won't be exactly like that player, it's just a close comparison and also has effects on your caps and abilities. Based on all the things you input previously, you will be provided with a few players from the past and present to choose to somewhat model your game after and that will be who you're compared to from time to time. The last thing you do is pick a player comparison.
Again each of these creates different caps in addition to your position, height, weight, body type.Ĥ.
So maybe lockdown defender who's good at staying with his man and sliding his feet, quick hands pick pocket type player, interceptor who plays the passing lane well, post defender, shot blocker, etc. Amd you should be able to choose 2 defensive disciplines. These could be elite passer, elite ball handler, athlete, post specialist, 3 point marksman, mid range sniper, etc. Not to say you won't be good in other areas but these are your bread and butter. You should be able to choose 3 key offensive weapons or strengths. The next screen is where we get creative. Each body type should have its own pros and cons.ģ. Body types should include slim (KD), athletic (basically the standard type we have now), muscular (Lebron), Stocky (Shaq), and even fat. When starting My Career mode, the very first creation menu should be where you choose your name, nickname, hometown, position, height, weight, and BODY TYPE.
Why should I have to improve my post fadeaway just because I want to improve my layup? And why should I have to improve my 3 point shot just to be able to make FT's as a big man? Yeah just get rid of that.Ģ.
First of all get rid of that STUPID BUCKET ATTRIBUTE UPGRADE SYSTEM!!!! Seriously I hate to be rude but that is the dumbest idea ever and whoever came up with it should be fired immediately. There needs to be ways to truly make your My Player unique.ġ. To add on to my previous post, I've come up with ways where 2k can bring back the individuality of the game.
